Loud, lanky and wisecracking character actress, who was a welcome, constant presence in television during the 1950s to 1970s. She continued working thru the 1980s, achieving acclaim in her last years as 'Sister Mary Lazarus' in SISTER ACT; a new flood of job offers came in as her health failed.<p>Memorable as 'Lucy Ricardo's' dance instructor in "The Ballet" episode of I LOVE LUCY, and 'Col. Reese' in an episode of M*A*S*H.
