Stooge Goofs   (4)
  • Dubbed-In Yell
For some strange reason when the ink bottle spills all over Dean Gonga's pants, they dubbed in Moe's â€Å"Nyaaaah!” too early. He doesn't even notice the bottle spilling yet and he doesn't say â€Å"Nyaaaah!” until a few seconds later.

  • Jump in Picture
There's a jump cut in the film right before the mouse trap snaps on Lorna Doone's hand.

  • Redubbed Voice
When Moe is cornered by McPherson and is talking on the phone to the operator, his voice has been redubbed, as has the sound of the dagger impaling his hat!

  • Stunt Double
Obvious stunt double for Ted Lorch aka MacPherson in the new footage as he passed away years earlier.

Stooge Routines   (4)

Stooge Trivia   (1)
  • The final short to feature the "swing" rendition of the "Three Blind Mice" theme in the end.

One of the better Shemp "recycles" I would say after watching it again. The new footage at the beginning in the Dean's office is good enough & the old footage provides some good laughs--particurlarly Shemp's "McYowser" business...

6 pokes

"Gee thanks Dean Gonga, you're a swell guy!"

I love that line (hence my moniker) and it's a great episode considering it was a "recycled" episode. 8 outta 10 pokes!

I love this short because of the nonstop gags like Larry yelling "Train leaving on Track 4, All Aboard" and Shemps "Look at the size of this shack", I also wondered why during the closing fight scene that the voices were speeded up (prehaps the film itself is sped up and makes the voices sound accordingly) Same thing as in Sing A Song of Six pants (with shemp on the coat rack)

The castle set is wonderful, and Christines accent always made her sound sexier than usual. As for her breaking into the wall safe and getting the mouse trap on her finger, The scene probably was stopped to put the trap on and then resumed, resulting in the jump in the scene.

A definate four eyepokes for this Shemper

One of the best remakes and one of the only two remakes better than the original. First, the downstairs scenes dragged a bit, but this one fixes that and adds the classic parrot in the skull gag which is done even better than before with Moe and Shemp. The dean's office scenes are very funny.3 1/2 pokes

I also enjoyed this short, I think it's even better than the original, The Hot Scots. A lot of slow scenes from Scots are replaced with some funnier gags like the bird in the skull routine, etc. Overall, I would give this one a B+. B.
