LETHAL WEAPON 3

Air Date/Released Friday, May 15, 1992
Station/Studio Warner Brothers

Sgts. Murtaugh and Riggs are demoted to beat cops after bungling a bomb threat. But one day on the job, they foil an armored car robbery, and learn of an illegal gun smuggling operation. They quickly bump heads with Internal Affairs investigator Lorna Cole, who's on the case because a rogue ex-cop is behind the arms smuggling, raiding police impounds, importing cop-killer bullets, and moving the goods onto the black market. Riggs and Cole stop bumping heads long enough to bump hips, and quickly fall in love. Further complicating the investigation is ex-mob informant Leo Getz who is now Murtaugh's real estate agent, selling Roger's house who prepares for retirement at the end of the week. When the weapons investigation gets too close, the rogue ex-cop raises the ante by kidnapping Capt. Murphy and leading the precinct into a deadly cop-killer ambush.

Mel Gibson again pays tribute to his favorite comedians... Riggs relaxing at home with his dogs, watching the Stooges in CALLING ALL CURS (1939). Later at Lorna's home, Riggs is amused to find the Three Stooges Cinemaware PC game on her computer.
