Margie Albright is a young, irrepressable NYC woman who lives with her widowed father Vernon. Her escapades to circumvent his parental control, and at the same time protect her successful father from golddigging women, border on the scatter-brained, frequently resulting in comedic misunderstandings and chaos.

Margie convinces Vern that his prospective investment client Mr. Briggs is at Ted Stark's lodge on a butterfly catching vacation, in a scheme to head for the lodge and spend the weekend with Ted. The lodge janitor masquerades as Briggs to keep Vern busy, and all seems to be going well... until the real Mr. Briggs (Joe Besser) shows up.
