Joey Barnes hosts a CBS Sunday night variety show from New York. Episodes revolve around his professional and personal life, with celebrities appearing as themselves. At home are Joey's beautiful wife Abby, and maid Hilda. Joe Besser costars as Mr. Jillson, the barely competent apartment building superintendent, a high-strung man with a heart of gold. Rounding out the main characters is Larry Corbett, Joey's best friend, head writer and manager.

Pressure from Joey's poker buddies turns his Midnight curfew into a 6AM homecoming. Joey tries to gaslight Ellie into thinking it's only 12AM, but aware of his game, she turns the tables.
