Joey Barnes is an L.A. Public Relations executive working at a Hollywood advertising agency, whose clients frequently include celebrities. Single and still living at home, Joey's easygoing manner is often taken advantage of by his boss, and even his family who think his job makes him a player in the Hollywood community.
Joey's joy over becoming a television star is short-lived, when network executives think they can publicize the show by changing Joey's image. He'd love to enjoy his new success with his family, friends and girlfriend, but a P.R. man is determined to make him a playboy in the press.
