THREE STOOGES STORY, THE

Air Date/Released Friday, September 1, 2000
Station/Studio GoodTimes / Paul Harris Prod
Featuring Miscellaneous Appearances

1 hour & 40 minute, made-for-video history and biography of The Three Stooges, produced by GoodTimes Home Entertainment via Paul Harris Productions and Film Shows Inc. Using the footage, mostly public domain, in GoodTimes' film library, plus interview footage acquired from earlier tribute productions like Mark Gilman's 50 YEARS WITH THE THREE STOOGES (1983), an accurate and interesting program was produced. Some date errors, and minor historical misstatements, but overall, an entertaining and worthwhile tribute.

Film clips from: NERTSERY RHYMES (1933), PLANE NUTS (1933), BEER AND PRETZELS (1933), MEET THE BARON (1933), HOLLYWOOD ON PARADE # B-9 (1934), HOLLYWOOD PARTY (1934), DISORDER IN THE COURT (1936), SCREEN SNAPSHOTS Series 18 # 9 (1939), TIME OUT FOR RHYTHM trailer (1941), SWING PARADE OF 1946 (1946), PEOPLE ARE FUNNY (1946), BRIDELESS GROOM (1947), SING A SONG OF SIX PANTS (1947), HEAVENLY DAZE (1948), MALICE IN THE PALACE (1949), AFRICA SCREAMS (1949), JERKS OF ALL TRADES (1949), CAMEL COMEDY CARAVAN (1950), GOLD RAIDERS trailer (1951), THE FRANK SINATRA SHOW (1952), THE ABBOTT AND COSTELLO SHOW (1952), The Three Stooges at The Holiday House home movies (1958), THE STEVE ALLEN SHOW (1959), THREE STOOGES FUN-O-RAMA trailer (1959), HAVE ROCKET WILL TRAVEL trailer (1959), ON THE GO (1960), STOP, LOOK AND LAUGH trailer (1960), ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION PSA (1960), SNOW WHITE AND THE THREE STOOGES teaser trailer (1961), THE THREE STOOGES MEET HERCULES trailer (1962), THE THREE STOOGES IN ORBIT trailer (1962), THE THREE STOOGES GO AROUND THE WORLD IN A DAZE trailer (1963), STRICTLY FOR LAFFS (1963), 4 FOR TEXAS trailer (1963), THE OUTLAWS IS COMING! trailer (1965), DANNY THOMAS MEETS THE COMICS (1965), THE NEW 3 STOOGES (1965), STAR SPANGLED SALESMAN (1968), DICKIES WORK PANTS commercial (1969), THE MIKE DOUGLAS SHOW (1973), interview with Larry Fine (1973), and [undated] audio clips with Moe Howard and Joe Besser.
