HERO SCHOLARSHIP THRILL SHOW

Air Date/Released Saturday, September 10, 1960
Station/Studio WFIL-TV 6 Philadelphia PA
Featuring Moe, Larry and Curly Joe

The "Hero Scholarship Thrill Show" was a live appearance at Philadelphia's Municipal Stadium on Sept. 9, 1960. A rainstorm canceled several of the scheduled acts... Tony Bennett, Polly Bergen and The Three Stooges. To compensate the disappointed fans, the three acts performed in a television special broadcast the next day on WFIL-TV 6 at 6:30PM.

WFIL was the Philadelphia station that broadcast the Three Stooges' shorts on Sally Starr's show POPEYE THEATER.

Performing in the Sept. 9 live show before the rainout, but not on the next day's WFIL broadcast was Bobby Rydell. Dick Clark was the live show's M.C.; unknown if Clark participated in the TV broadcast.

Cast: Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Joe DeRita, Tony Bennett, Polly Bergen
