Three Stooges, The WKBN-TV

Air Date/Released Monday, July 27, 1959
Station/Studio WKBN-TV Youngstown OH
Host/Star Ted Niemi
Featuring Moe, Larry and Curly Joe

WKBN-TV in Youngstown OH ran The Three Stooges shorts on weekday afternoons at 5:25PM. Hosting the show was 'Stanley,' a clown usually played by Jerry Ducie.

In late July 1959, Moe, Larry and Curly Joe visited the station to promote the Stooges show, and also to promote their upcoming live appearance at Youngstown's Stambaugh Auditorium on July 31.

This appearance was made sometime in late July 1959, while the Stooges were appearing nearby at the Holiday House in Monroeville PA. Monday July 27 is an estimated tape date, promoting their Friday July 31 show in Youngstown.

Per Jerry Ducie's daughter, it is not him in the surviving kinescope of this promotion. It is believed that standing in as 'Stanley' is another WKBN air personality, Ted Niemi.

Cast: Ted Niemi, Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Joe DeRita
