When the Stooges are being bullied by someone, Moe tries to stand up to him by telling him that the third Stooge is "one of the toughest men from the state of *clap-clap-clap-clap* Texas!" Then the third Stooge walks up to the villian and tries to act all tough, but the villian slaps him before he can even say anything.
A variation of this routine is used in PARDON MY CLUTCH, but minus the *clap-clap-clap-clap*. |

A hot stake better than cold chop
| When the Stooges are given the choice to either have their heads chopped off or to be burned at the stake as their death, Curly decides to go with being burned at the stake. When the other Stooges ask why, he responds "A hot 'steak' is better than cold 'chop'!" |

| A simple job for simple people

A terrific headache
| When the Stooges are trying to come up with an idea, either Larry or the third Stooge exclaims "I got it! I got it!" Moe excitedly asks "What?!", and the Stooge responds "A terrific headache!" |

Accidentally hitting other Stooge with a shoe
| A Stooge yanks off his shoe and accidentally hits another Stooge on the head with it. |

Accidentally punching self in the chin
| When a Stooge or supporting character is watching others fight, he cheers them on and makes mock punching motions with his arm, but he accidentally punches himself in the chin. |

Accidentally reviving unconscious enemies
| One Stooge tries to revive another unconscious Stooge by throwing water in his face, but the water misses and instead splashes on knocked-out enemies, bringing them back to. |

Accused of kidnapping a baby
| The Stooges pick up a baby they see on a doorstep, thinking that it has been abandoned. Later on, they find out from an article in the newspaper that they're being accused of kidnapping the baby. |

And lay you right down, too!
| When Moe gives a drink that the Stooges made themselves to a man, Moe says "This oughta pick you up". Then Curly adds in "...and lay you right down, too!" |

Animal scaring Stooge under bed
| Shemp is hiding under a bed as two other people in the room are having a conversation, and one of them is sitting on the bed. An animal crawls over to Shemp's leg, causing him to scream and jump, knocking over the bed and the person sitting on it. |

Animal's tail hitting a Stooge
| A Stooge is being constantly hit by an uncooperative cow, mule, or horse's tail. So the Stooge ties a heavy and hard object around the tail to stop it. However, the cow/mule/horse still lifts its tail and it hits the Stooge in the head with the hard object. |

Any resemblance...
| A short opens with a disclaimer that says something like "Any resemblance between the characters in this picture and any persons, living or dead, is a miracle." |

Are we ???
| When somebody asks a Stooge if they're good at something, Moe responds "Are we!" Larry says the same. However, the third Stooge asks seriously "Are we?", followed by angry stares from Moe and Larry. |

Are you a man or a mouse?
| When Moe asks one or both of the other two scared Stooges if they're mice or men, they respond "Mice!" or "Squeak! Squeak!" |

Are you dancing?
| During a dance, a man asks a Stooge "Are you dancing?" The Stooge asks "Are you asking?" The man responds "Yes, I'm asking", then the Stooge says "Then I'm dancing!" and dances with the man. |

Are you gonna eat that alone?
| During dinner when Larry greedily takes an entire chicken for himself, Moe asks him "Are you gonna eat that alone?" Larry responds something like "No, I wait; maybe I'll get potatoes!" |

Attacked by a sandwich
| A Stooge tries to eat a big sandwich, but the bread keeps opening up by itself like an animal and biting the Stooge's nose. |
