Four boyhood friends, Tony Ferrera, Rosy Rosenberg, Stuffy Wilson and Mike O'Brien, play football under the guidance of coach Howdy Hardy. Known as The Four Bombers, the junior classmen are the star players at Pacific University. Mike's shady older brother Joe (Ted Healy) tries to convince them to drop out and go professional. Tony bites at the bait, and Stuffy is seriously injured in a car accident while racing to stop Tony from signing a contract. Their relationship with Hardy damaged, the remaining Bombers decide to quit the team. It's up to Kitty and Stuffy to convince them to change their minds and rejoin the team for their senior year.
