CAVALCADE OF AMERICA - The Road to Berlin

Air Date/Released Monday, February 5, 1945
Station/Studio NBC Blue (radio)
Host/Star Bing Crosby
Featuring Joe DeRita (Solo)

CAVALCADE presented celebrity guests in one or two historical dramatizations per episode, with each celebrating the people and history of America. During World War II, the series took a more contemporary approach, exploring current American history related to the war in Europe and the Pacific.

Honoring the 4th anniversary of the USO, Bing Crosby reunites the troupe from his August - October 1944 USO tour in France. Joining Bing are Joe DeRita, Jeannie Darrell and Darlene Garner, as the group reminisces about some of the French citizens and American G.I.s they encountered in the towns and on the front lines. Bing sings an off-season "White Christmas" and duets with Jeannie for "Easter Parade."
